This was done intentionally to give you a general idea of what a cage can be and it’s time to talk about them generally so that you can know what to focus on when buying a cage that’s going to be safe and more practical as a consequence of these actions.

Hamster Habitat – Did you know that hamsters originate from Syria and were brought into the US in the late 1930s? Because of their origin, their natural habitat tends to be warm and dry. Remember that Syrian hamsters are 2 times larger than any dwarf hamster. Even though we said what we said about cage size, we’d recommend that you go bigger if you can.

2 Hamsters In One Cage – If you’re getting a cage to house two hamsters in it we want to prevent you from doing that since hamsters don’t exactly pair well with other hamsters. This is especially true for Syrian hamsters that will unalive another if you pair them. Dwarf hamsters might be fine but they’re also prone to fighting.

Ventilation Importance – Hamsters are small animals and that consequently means that their respiratory systems are small and their skin is sensitive.
